Construction of the world’s most eco-friendly green highway in Dubai
Dubai is home to the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, and it has a lot to offer as well.
But now an unprecedented construction project has come up for Dubai.
The design of the world’s most environmentally friendly highway has been revealed by URB, a company from Dubai.
The company has released designs for a 64 km long highway.
The highway will be equipped with eco-friendly technologies like solar powered automated trams, smart traffic management and others.
According to the company, Dubai is expanding rapidly and its population is expected to double by 2040, which requires creative thinking to overcome current and future challenges.
The automated solar-powered tram is a key part of the proposed project, while the tram line will have a network of green areas, parks and overpasses to facilitate pedestrian access to various areas, the company said.
Various sensors will be installed in this highway to control traffic as well as improve energy consumption.
Solar panels and their storage systems will be installed on the highway, which will provide energy to the tram line, while also providing environment-friendly electricity to 13,000 homes.

Similarly, 1 million trees will be planted in the green spaces along the highway to keep Dubai cool as well as improve air quality.
This is not the first time that URB has released a unique highway design for Dubai.
Earlier in February 2023, the company had presented a plan to build an air-conditioned highway in Dubai.
The highway will be 58 miles long with a roof over it and will be called The Loop.
Mainly this highway will be for cyclists or pedestrians.
According to the company, the aim of the project is to facilitate access to any place in Dubai by foot or bicycle.
The highway will go around Dubai and will be a car-free green corridor so that people can explore the city on foot or by bicycle.
