Bernard played the role of ‘Captain Edward Smith’ in Titanic
Hollywood actor Bernard Hill, best known for his roles in Titanic and Lord of the Rings, has died at the age of 79.
According to the British news agency BBC, Hollywood actor Bernard Hill died on Sunday, which was confirmed by his agent Luke Colson.
Bernard played Captain Edward Smith in Titanic and King Theodon in Lord of the Rings.

Tributes have been pouring in since the news of the legendary actor’s death broke.
In her condolence message on social media platform X, Scottish musician Barbara Dixon said, “Bernard was a truly wonderful actor, it was an honor to work with him.”
The actor was also known for his role as Usher Hughes in Alan Blaisdell’s lead British drama Boys from the Black Stuff.
Bernard Hill is the only Hollywood actor whose 11 films have been awarded Oscars.
