YouTube is working on introducing an AI assistant
YouTube is introducing an artificial intelligence (AI) assistant.
YouTube’s new AI assistant from Google will be used to answer questions on users’ minds about videos.
The company is testing this AI assistant among limited YouTube Premium users in the US.
With this AI assistant, users will be able to ask questions in real-time while watching videos. When this AI assistant is available, a new button called Ask will appear below videos in the YouTube app on Android devices.
By clicking on this button, users will be able to write their questions or get a video synopsis or content suggestions using pre-existing promos.
After doing this, the AI technology will analyze the video footage and react accordingly to the user’s query, while the video viewing process will not be affected.
This AI assistant will not work for all videos right now but will be gradually extended by Google.
So far, preliminary results from testing the assistant have been impressive.
The trial feature is currently available to a limited number of users until May 1, after which it is likely to be rolled out permanently to YouTube based on feedback.
